An inspiring start to the Global Women Learn, Lead, Legacy Community Series

We’re proud to announce our new Learn, Lead, Legacy series has officially kicked off to an inspiring start. Our inaugural event in Tauranga set the bar high for what’s to come in this ongoing, nation-wide series: connection, sharing, openness, and inspiration.

The evening of Tuesday 12th July saw women from around the Bay Area gather together with Antonia Watson, Chief Executive, ANZ, as she reflected on her leadership journey, mused on the future and discussed what we might need to do to build a more equitable and prosperous Āotearoa New Zealand.

The conversations delved into the evolving role of leadership — the broadening set of leadership skills, promoting people selflessly, leading through others were key areas of exploration and interest. Additionally, the importance of diversity, inclusion, networking, communicating, resilience and ever-growing importance of ESG and sustainability in our world were also part of the invigorating mix of topics discussed.

We were proud to see our 60 person capacity fill up with wāhine from all walks of life within days. Attendees ranged from Year 13 school students (who delivered our karakia) to women in business sectors: iwi, financial services, legal, accounting, engineering, architecture, construction and charity organisations.

Designed to inspire and engage women in stages of life and business, it’s clear this series is off to a promising start and we can’t wait to continue the sharing.

Thank you to Antonia Watson for your insight, Cassandra Crowley for your brilliant moderation and to ANZ and Bay of Plenty Regional Council Toi Moana for your support and hospitality.
