Congratulations Tania Simpson 2024 New Zealand Honours Recipient

 

Global Women, proudly stands alongside New Zealand Aotearoa in congratulating Tania Simpson in her well-deserved recognition on the NZ Honours List for 2024.

With a career spanning several decades, Tania has dedicated herself to advocating for the rights of indigenous people and fostering cultural diversity. A highly regarded leader in the Māori community, she has spearheaded initiatives aimed at upholding and revitalising the language, culture, and traditions of Māori. Tania’s advocacy for indigenous rights has had a profound impact, not only within Aotearoa New Zealand but also on a global scale. Her efforts have shed light on equal representation and have emboldened indigenous communities to reclaim their cultural heritage.

In addition to her advocacy work, she has exhibited intentional leadership both in the public and private sectors, she has played a pivotal role in shaping inclusive policies. Her visionary outlook and capacity to unite diverse stakeholders have been instrumental in driving positive change.  The inclusion of Tania in the 2024 New Zealand Honours List is an acknowledgment that celebrates her impact in creating a more inclusive and equitable Aotearoa New Zealand.
