Diversity in Leadership in New Zealand: new factsheet series offers practical steps to close the gap
Factsheets cover every stage of the employee journey, including recruitment, performance evaluation, work-life harmony, and balance at board level.
Our new series of factsheets provides key information on the top issues holding back women and disadvantaged minorities in the workplace today. The factsheets give an overview of the challenges, along with tangible steps to tackle them, supported by research. The series also includes statistics, global comparisons, and the case for change.
“At Global Women we provide research-led solutions to the most pressing challenges, so that our partner organisations and members have the information and tools they need to build diversity and inclusion into their organisations at every level,” Annabel Coxon, Communications Manager at Global Women, says.
Sharing our insights and knowledge with our partners is an important part of what Global Women does. That’s why we worked together with experts to produce this series of factsheets, with each topic driven by feedback from our members and partners. It’s about empowering people to feel confident and prepared when talking on these subjects. Global Women partners and members are encouraged to use the factsheets as handouts or as reference tools when speaking at events.
Ten topical factsheets are now available: Avoiding bias in hiring and performance evaluation, Gender Quotas: Yes or No?, Creating an Inclusive Culture, The Case for Diversity and Inclusion, Sharing the Caring: Whānau and Work, The Importance of Parental Leave, Increasing Board Diversity, Developing Diverse Leaders, What is the Gender Pay Gap? and Recruiting for Gender Diversity. More topics will be added to the series as requested.
