Global Women, a non-profit organisation that advocates for diversity in leadership, today announces the appointment of new board member, Susan Peterson.
Susan Peterson brings extensive board experience, as an Independent Director on the Boards of ASX/NZX listed companies Xero, Trustpower, Vista Group and Property for Industry, and is also on the Board of ASB Bank.
Committed to helping women to fulfil their career and leadership aspirations throughout her career, Susan also spent six years as a Ministerial appointee on the National Advisory Council for the Employment of Women.
Susan also chairs the Audit and Risk Committees for Vista Group and Property for Industry. In addition, Susan is the co-chair of the health and wellness start-up company Organic Initiative Limited and, in that capacity, works alongside fellow Global Women members.
“We are delighted to have such an experienced board member with a clear passion for gender equality joining our board. Susan will make a significant impact in achieving our vision for leaders across all sectors to be as diverse as New Zealand itself, to improve social and economic prosperity for all New Zealanders,” said Vanessa Stoddart, Chair Global Women.
Susan is excited at the prospect of joining the Global Women Board and helping the team to successfully deliver its goal of increasing diversity in leadership through, amongst other things, encouraging, developing and promoting women.
Global Women members also voted to elect the following Board members who stood for election/re-election: Joanna Doolan, Anna Stove, Felicity Evans, Tania Simpson, Ranjna Patel, and Cilla Hegarty.
