Sarah Baddeley

Sarah Baddeley is a Partner and Director at New Zealand management consultancy firm, MartinJenkins. She offers a special combination of first-class analytical abilities and strategic thought with excellent communication skills. This, together with her wide experience, enables her to work with boards and executive teams on problems that may otherwise be confronting and uncomfortable to tackle. Sarah also leads the Auckland practice of MartinJenkins

Originally trained as a commercial regulatory economist at the New Zealand Treasury, Sarah has accumulated a wealth of experience across both the public and private sectors. Her portfolio spans industries such as water, energy, transport, labour markets, healthcare, and social services. She has held a number of senior roles in the public and private sector both here and in Australia. She also spent a period as Economic Advisor to the Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister.

Her recent areas of focus have been in the labour market, including working with large organisations to support improvements in workforce planning and worker welfare.

She has also led several assignments that have focussed on joint ventures, collaborative ways of working, and partnerships between local government, central government, community organisations, and mana whenua.

Sarah has a Bachelor of Social Science in Economics and Political Science from the University of Waikato, and an Australian Company Director’s Diploma. She has completed the General Manager Programme at the University of New South Wales Business School.

Sarah is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors and the Association of Workplace Investigators. She has also recently finished a 5 year term as a member of the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal.
