Nicole Rosie joined Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency as Chief Executive in February 2020.
Prior to her appointment, Nicole was the CE of Worksafe for three years. She has more than two decades of senior executive experience across the public and private sectors. Nicole has enjoyed a varied career spanning 15 years executive experience in large New Zealand businesses including KiwiRail, Toll, Fletcher Forest and ACC. In these roles she built and led improvements in business performance through a focus on leadership, care for people and systematic improvement in health and safety systems, culture and outcomes. This includes a range of industries and functions, such as transport and commercial firms.
Nicole is passionate about making a difference and sees the land transport system and the critical roles Waka Kotahi plays across infrastructure, regulation and safety as being at the heart of a successful New Zealand.
Nicole’s desire is to deliver outcomes through influence rather than hierarchy and being an authentic leader is the key to her success. Nicole is a passionate New Zealander who cares deeply about people. In her personal life Nicole keeps herself busy jointly raising her 4 children aged between 8 and 13.
