Global Women Member Michele Embling’s governance cap holds many incredible feathers. One more exciting appointment is adding to her incredible legacy.
We’re pleased to share that Michele has been made Chair of the Board Audit and Risk Committee and an Independent Non-Executive Director of AIA New Zealand — a fellow Global Women Partner organisation, no less!
This new appointment is in good company. Michele’s rich tapestry of board and chair positions brings together a mix of industries, from private to public sector. She is currently Chair of the External Reporting Board, while holding governance roles at Transpower New Zealand, Toitū Tahua – The Centre for Sustainable Finance, the Australian Financial Reporting Council, University of Auckland’s Business School Advisory Board, as well as being a fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
Within this, Michele was a partner for 15 years and involved PwC in New Zealand and Asia and served as Co-Chair of our very own Champions for Change from 2018 to 2020.
Michele also shares a historic link with another Global Women Partner, PwC New Zealand, as the chair from 2016-2020 — something that no doubt held her in good stead for this opportunity. Within this, Michele was a partner for 15 years and involved PwC in New Zealand and Asia and served as Co-Chair of our very own Champions for Change from 2018 to 2020.
The link deepens even further: Michele was was a Global Women board member from 2011 to 2018, and also the Deputy Chair.
