Courage, connection and the power of a global network. What can happen when women across borders mobilise around a shared purpose?
Join us for the remarkable story of more than 200 Afghan women judges whose lives were put at grave risk when the Taliban returned to power in 2021 – and the international network of women judges that mobilised to help save them and their families.
We’ll hear first-hand from:
- The Honourable Dame Susan Glazebrook DNZM – then President of the International Association of Women Judges and a leader of the international effort to evacuate the judges.
- Raihana Attaee – former Afghan judge, evacuated to New Zealand.
Their story is a powerful example of women supporting women across borders – and a springboard for a conversation about Global Women’s own global ambition. We’ll also be joined by some IAWJ members.
International members and those outside Auckland can join online and will be able to contribute to the discussion.
