It’s with a great deal of pride we share that Dame Silvia Cartwright has been recognised with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Women of Influence 2021 awards.
Dame Silvia’s dedication to advancing women’s rights and her contribution to justice as our nation’s first female High Court judge and second female Governor-General (among many outstanding accolades) has contributed to this inspiring achievement.
This marks a year where 5 of our members were acknowledged as finalists in Women of Influence 2021 Awards for their dedication to excellence and advancement across a myriad of industries.
Jointly presented to Āotearoa by Global Women Major Partners Westpac, and Support Partners, Stuff, the Women of Influence Awards are about celebrating the wāhine in our community who are tackling important issues across the spectrum and bettering the lives of New Zealanders.
As Global Women Member and Westpac NZ CEO Catherine McGrath shares, this moment is to inspire Kiwis to both celebrate and support the women in their lives. “With International Women’s Day just a month away, we challenge everyone to take action – whether it’s joining a community group, nominating a deserving person for greater recognition, or simply sharing social posts about causes that are meaningful to you.”
Want more? Find all finalists and their stories will be on exhibition at Auckland CBD’s Takutai Square throughout February.
