Rachel Walsh joined Datacom Group Limited as CFO in July 2018, Datacom is a NZ private company jointly controlled by the founding family and NZSF with turnover of $1.8b and ~7,000 staff across NZ, AU, Malaysia and Philippines. As CFO Rachel has functional responsibility for financial reporting, treasury, data and business information, strategy and risk, Group IT and manages the total corporate budget. Previously, Rachel was CFO at listed healthcare company Abano where she was one of handful of female CFO’s listed on the NZX.
Rachel has extensive financial experience in advisory and corporate roles. She previously worked with Rank Group Limited where she was involved in acquisitions and divestments, debt raising in the US markets and financial reporting in the US market and under International Financial Reporting Standards. Earlier, Rachel spent six years at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Director in Audit and member of PwC’s global network of accounting consulting services, focusing on transactions and financial instruments.
Rachel has a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Commercial Law and is a Fellow of CAANZ and a member of the NZ IOD.
In her personal life, Rachel and her husband, Paul, have a blended family of six children, four girls and two boys ranging in age from 12 to 22. Relaxation includes biking, skiing, running and spending quality time with family and friends.
