Naomi Ferguson was the Commissioner and Chief Executive, Inland Revenue. Naomi returned to New Zealand in July 2012 to take up this role. Naomi is an experienced public sector executive with more than 20 years’ experience working in the United Kingdom (UK) and New Zealand.
She has successfully delivered major transformational projects and built effective teams to deliver results. Naomi has held a number of senior executive roles spanning strategy, operational management, tax audit, change and programme management. She has extensive experience of leading large organisations through change, including experience as a non- executive in the UK National Health Service, and as an executive at Barclays Bank PLC.
During her tenure as Commissioner of Inland Revenue, she successfully led the Business Transformation Programme, ensuring that Inland Revenue was strategically well placed to deliver for New Zealanders now and into the future.
Naomi was also the founding sponsor of the Government Women’s Network and co-lead for Diversity and Inclusion across the public sector.
