Mel Hewitson is a professional company director, following an executive career in institutional investment management, risk, compliance and financial regulation.
Mel’s current board memberships include Fidelity Life Assurance, Simplicity NZ, Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Whai Maia, Southern Cross Travel Insurance, New Zealand Green Investment Finance Solar Investments Limited, Domain Name Commission, Housing Foundation and Foundation North. Mel chairs the Nominating Committee for Waikato-Tainui’s Group Investment Committee and is the Chair of the Active Investment Plus Advisory Panel for NZ Trade & Enterprise. She is an Independent Member of the NZ Investment Committee of FINDEX Advice Services NZ Limited.
Mel was honoured as Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to governance in 2022. She is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors, an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® and holds Climate Competent Board Designation.
