Helen is an entrepreneur with interests in a diverse range of innovative companies as well as an independent director serving on the board of numerous organisations. Her personal mission is to ‘do good at scale’.
Helen is the co-founder, CEO and Executive Director of Organic Initiative Limited (Oi) and Organic Initiative Corporation (USA) whose purpose is to remove plastic from hygiene products, starting with premium organic feminine hygiene products at supermarket prices.
She is Director, ATEED (Auckland Tourism Events & Economic Development) and Fulbright New Zealand. Previous directorships include NIWA, NZ Business Excellence Foundation, Cloud M and Chair of N4L.
Helen has led many technology companies (Managing Director, Microsoft, New Zealand, and Vice President, Asia Pacific, Pivotal Corporation) and CEO, TZ1 Registry – acquired by London based Markit Group Ltd where she continued to act as Managing Director until 2011.
Helen was the Supreme Winner (as well as the Board and Management Award) at the Westpac Women of Influence Awards in 2016 and the Most Inspiring Individual at the NZ Innovation Awards in 2017. She was the recipient of Beta Gamma Sigma membership by AUT and was recognised with a highly commended Amcham’s Bilateral Entrepreneur/Innovator of the Year with the USA Award. In December 2017 Helen was appointed as an Officer of the New Zealand order of Merit (ONZM).
