Brandi Hudson

Chief Executive, UNICEF New Zealand

Brandi Hudson has been the CEO of the Independent Maori Statutory Board since May 2011. She is of Ngati Maniapoto, Ngati Rarua, Ngati Pikiao descent.

She has a diverse career background in sport, education, health, treaty settlements to central and local government.

Brandi is married to Associate Professor, Maui Hudson from Whakatohea and they have three sporty teenagers.

She is committed to initiatives that enable Māori to have a high quality of life and standard of living, whilst maintaining a strong cultural identity.

“One of the key objectives of this role that motivates me, is leading the Secretariat to support the Board to advocate strongly for Maori to ensure that Maori aspirations and values in Tamaki Makaurau are represented and included in key Auckland Council plans and are realised in a meaningful and substantive way that produces benefits for all Aucklanders.”
