Justine, Companion of the Order of Merit (CNZM) for services to governance and women, is one of New Zealand’s leading professional directors with ten years’ governance experience. She is the Chair of Spark NZ, the Chair of The Breast Cancer Foundation NZ and a Director of Auckland International Airport. Former governance roles include being a board member of the Financial Markets Authority and Deputy Chair of New Zealand Post Limited.

Justine has experience in governance, mergers and acquisitions, taxation and financial performance of large corporate enterprises from being the Group Finance Director at Lion Nathan and a Partner at Deloitte. She also has extensive experience at the “coal face” of business – having owned and successfully operated two medium-sized business over a period of 11 years, which underpins her contribution as a Director. She is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants NZ and a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors.

Throughout her career – and in the past few years in particular – Justine has had a big focus on using her position to further the careers and prospects of other women. She is a sought-after speaker and panellist on issues relating to women’s progression in the business sector, where she pulls no punches in challenging the unconscious biases that prevent women from being appointed to senior positions.
