Jason Shoebridge


Jason joined NZIER as CEO in September 2021. Before joining NZIER, Jason was CEO of Kantar Insight New Zealand, which operates the Kantar and Colmar Brunton insights agencies in New Zealand. Kantar has clients in all sectors of the New Zealand economy and counts some of New Zealand most influential and prominent corporate and public sector organisations amongst its client base.

In addition to his CEO role, from 2019, Jason led Kantar’s Analytics Practice for 12 markets within the Asia Pacific region. Kantar’s Analytics Practice uses data, analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning to solve customer and market-facing business issues for its clients.

Prior to his most recent roles, Jason was Managing Director of TNS New Zealand between 2010 and 2016 before being promoted to CEO of Kantar Insight New Zealand.
In these roles, Jason has also led consulting assignments for high profile corporate and public sector clients across a diverse range of industries and disciplines in New Zealand and overseas. Before his consulting career, Jason held senior commercial and financial management roles in large corporates in New Zealand and the United Kingdom and roles within an international chartered accounting firm.

Jason has also held public sector governance roles as Deputy Chair and Chair of the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee of Sport New Zealand, as well as being a Director and member of the Audit Committee of NIWA, a Crown Research Institute.

Jason has an MBA and Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Economics and Finance from the University of Auckland, and is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Directors.
