What is an inclusive culture?
Join us on our mission to get people talking about how unconscious bias could be influencing the way we behave, especially in the workplace. No matter how well-meaning we are, we all have in-built biases. And it’s little slips like the language we use at work that mean we unintentionally exclude or favour our colleagues. Together, lets acknowledge and address this.
What is unconscious bias?
Every one of us has built-in biases that can lead us to make unfair assumptions, no matter how well-intentioned we might be. Our brains create automatic mental shortcuts that help us process the vast amount of information we have to deal with every day. Most of the time this is helpful. But when it comes to unconscious attitudes and beliefs about certain groups of people, it can cause problems. Overcoming unintended discrimination is critical to creating diverse, inclusive and high-performing workplaces. That’s why it’s important to start these conversations about overcoming unconscious bias.
