DESCRIPTION:Global Women is proud to host this gathering\, offering our members the opportunity to connect while learning more about the extraordinary work of Mercy Hospice – an organisation providing compassionate\, specialist palliative care to people and whānau facing life-limiting illness. \nThis year’s event coincides with Melbourne Cup Day. We’ll pause to watch the race together and run a friendly sweepstake to raise additional funds for Mercy Hospice. And\, in the spirit of the Cup\, we encourage you to wear a hat! \n\nOn the evening\, you’ll:Bring – A donation for one of the eight Hospice Shops. Clothing or homeware items are welcome\, provided they are clean and of good quality. \nMake – Get hands-on at the creative giving stations: \n\nCraft butterflies from beads and wire\, gifted to families as part of the Bereavement Service.\nMake candles using donated glass vessels\, which will later be sold in the shops to raise funds.\n\nTake Away – Hear personal stories from Hospice staff and gain insight into the care they provide\, so you can help spread awareness and demystify hospice care. \nTour – Experience a guided tour of Mercy Hospice\, exploring the different spaces and services that support patients and families both onsite and out in the community. \n\nAbout Mercy HospiceEach year\, Mercy Hospice cares for more than 1\,100 patients and their loved ones – with services spanning specialist community and home-based care\, inpatient care\, counselling\, family\, spiritual and cultural support\, and education and training. She has extensive experience in research design\, survey development\, qualitative and quantitative analysis\, and facilitating interviews and focus groups. Tania is a skilled communicator\, adept at presenting complex insights to diverse audiences\, and is the founding director of Cogo Research. \nKatie Bhreatnach\nKatie Bhreatnach is an experienced business leader passionate about the empowerment and advancement of wāhine and Māori. She has a global perspective gleaned from experience studying and working overseas\, coupled with a passion and drive for innovating for a strong\, successful\, and sustainable Aotearoa for all of its people. \nHer executive career is marked by commercial breadth across diverse sectors including financial services\, FMCG\, manufacturing\, infrastructure\, technology\, and aviation.
