DESCRIPTION:This evening will bring together inspiring leaders to share their experiences\, insights\, and reflections on advancing women’s leadership\, purpose-driven governance\, and the future of Aotearoa. \nOur panel brings a wealth of expertise across governance\, business\, and research – offering a unique opportunity to engage in kōrero about the challenges and opportunities facing wāhine leaders today. \nThe event will feature a moderated discussion\, audience Q&A\, and time for networking and connection. \nYour Panellists:\nModerator: Trish Oakley – Chancellor\, University of Otago\nAnne McLeod – Partner\, Anderson Lloyd\nKatie Bhreatnach – CEO – Global Women\nProfessor Reremoana (Moana) Theodore -Director\, Dunedin Study \nTrish Oakley\nTrish Oakley is a purpose-led governance leader who combines a people-first approach with strategic oversight to drive organisational performance and positive outcomes.\nShe brings over 25 years of experience from the financial services industry\, working across marketing\, product development and people focused roles. \nShe is Chancellor of the University of Otago. Trish is also a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors (IoD)\, Otago-Southland Branch committee member and President of the IoD’s National Council. She is a member of the New Zealand Lotteries Commission. \nAnne McLeod\nAnne McLeod is a partner in Anderson Lloyd’s corporate commercial team and has been with the firm since 2002\, becoming its first female equity partner. She has held a number of leadership roles within the firm\, including three periods on the firm’s board (and is a current board member)\, and contributes actively to Anderson Lloyd’s strategic direction. \nShe has also held governance roles outside the firm including being a director of Southland Building Society (also known as SBS Bank)\, chair of Southsure Assurance Limited and on the board of trustees of St Hilda’s Collegiate School. Her current external governance role is as a director of Port Otago Limited and its subsidiaries. \nBased in Dunedin\, Anne works closely with clients across a wide range of commercial matters\, including acquisitions\, divestments\, and capital raising for both private and listed companies. \nKatie Bhreatnach\nKatie Bhreatnach is an experienced business leader passionate about the empowerment and advancement of wahine and Māori. She has a global perspective\, gleaned from working and studying overseas\, coupled with a drive for innovating for a strong and sustainable Aotearoa. \nHer executive career spans financial services\, FMCG\, manufacturing\, infrastructure\, technology\, and aviation. Katie is also an experienced Director and chartered member of the Institute of Directors\, with governance roles including Dunedin International Airport\, AMP\, Te Wānanga o Aotearoa\, and the College of Law. \nProfessor Moana Theodore\nProfessor Moana Theodore (Ngāpuhi) is a New Zealand epidemiologist specialising in longitudinal research. She is the Director of the internationally renowned Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health and Development Study (the Dunedin Study)\, and previously led the National Centre for Lifecourse Research. \nHer work continues to shape how we understand health\, development\, and wellbeing across lifespans and generations in Aotearoa.
